Following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in June 2022, our collective commitment to safeguarding reproductive freedom in Maryland has never been more critical. As our future Senator, David Trone will continue leading the charge to protect our bodily autonomy in the Senate.
David is a proud member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, where he is committed to advancing legislation demanding reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy.
David’s unwavering support for reproductive rights is reflected in his 100% voting record with Planned Parenthood and Reproductive Freedom For All.
David is an original cosponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which aims to codify Roe v. Wade’s protections and establish a nationwide right to abortion. He also champions the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Act.
David’s goal is to ensure that every person in America has access to comprehensive healthcare, including abortion care, regardless of their financial situation or insurance provider.
Even in Maryland, where abortion is legal, there are still abortion deserts and more crisis pregnancy centers than abortion clinics.
David took action to change that in his district by opening an abortion clinic to serve Western Maryland and surrounding states.
Despite this, the threat of federal legislation by extremist Republicans aimed at imposing a nationwide abortion ban looms large – challenging the rights and freedoms we’ve fought to secure here in Maryland. David will continue these efforts throughout MD while continuing to battle for body autonomy at the federal level.
