Frederick, MD – Today, six more local leaders from across Maryland’s Sixth District announced their endorsements of David Trone for re-election to the House of Representatives. The list includes local elected officials from four counties, including President of the Poolesville Town Commissioners James “Jim” Brown, Middletown Burgess John Miller, Smithsburg Mayor Donnie Souders, Boonsboro Mayor Howard Long, Keedysville Mayor Ken Lord, and Kitzmiller Mayor Robert Reckart.
They join a list of leaders and organizations from across the district supporting Trone’s campaign, including Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, Frederick County Council President Brad Young, At-Large Frederick County Councilmember Renee Knapp, IBEW Locals 24, 26, 307, and 1200, SMART International, and SMART Local 100.
“These leaders know that our communities are best served when local and federal government work together, hand-in-hand,” said Congressman David Trone. “Throughout my time in Congress, I prioritized these partnerships and so did they — and that’s reflected in the growing list of fantastic public servants who are joining our team to take the fight back to Washington and deliver for our district. I couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”
“When David Trone served as our Congressman, we felt like we finally had someone in the federal government who not only listened to us, but also partnered with us to improve our Poolesville community’s quality of life,” said President of the Poolesville Town Commissioners James “Jim” Brown. “His constituent service was absolutely the best in Maryland, and he worked hard to help us receive the grant we needed to rebuild our Main Street. His ability to set aside partisan politics and reach across the aisle when needed is refreshing and so important, especially in a District filled with voters covering the entire political spectrum. I’m convinced David Trone will, again, represent all of our citizens at the highest level, so I am officially endorsing him to serve as our 6th District Congressman. Re-elect David Trone!”
“David Trone has always believed in service and investing directly in the communities he represents. In Middletown and across our region, he’s only a call away—and everyone knows that when you call David Trone, he answers,” said Middletown Burgess John Miller. “He listens, he shows up, and he gets to work for the people he serves. I’m glad David Trone is answering the call once again to represent us in Congress.”
“When our town was hurting after a horrific act of gun violence, David Trone showed up in our hour of need. He didn’t do it for headlines. He did it because he believes small towns matter and people matter,” said Smithsburg Mayor Donnie Souders. “David has always stood up for the little guys and for communities like Smithsburg. That kind of leadership, showing up when it counts and not just when it’s convenient, is exactly what we need in Congress.”
“Every day as Mayor, I’m focused on ensuring Boonsboro is a safe, thriving place where families feel secure and our quality of life keeps improving. David Trone has stood with towns like ours—supporting investment in local infrastructure, backing federal resources that help small towns grow, and listening to what families really need,” said Boonsboro Mayor Howard Long. “He doesn’t just talk about results, he delivers them. I’m proud to endorse David Trone because he stands with our community and protects what matters most to our neighbors.”
“David Trone is a proven leader with a great track record of finding bipartisan solutions, especially in the areas of addiction, mental health, and criminal justice reform — all issues very important to our district,” said Keedysville Mayor Ken Lord. “His effectiveness and strong voice make him the best choice to represent us in these challenging times.”
“In Kitzmiller and across Garrett County, we care deeply about our families and the industries that keep our communities strong. David Trone understands that small towns like ours depend on good jobs, local businesses, and leaders who never forget their roots,” said Kitzmiller Mayor Robert Reckart. “He has consistently supported the workers and industries that power Western Maryland, while standing up for the families who call this region home. I’m proud to support David because he fights for communities like ours every single day.”
David Trone served Maryland’s 6th District in Congress from 2019-2025. He is running for re-election in Congress to fight Trump and his MAGA agenda, protect our neighbors, bring down skyrocketing healthcare costs, and end the tariffs that are causing prices to keep going up for Maryland families.
