Frederick, MD – Today, Congressman David Trone’s reelection campaign launched a new website providing an in-depth breakdown of April McClain Delaney’s voting record and how she has voted with Trump and MAGA Republicans in Congress 22% of the time.
The website details numerous pivotal votes where McClain Delaney opposed the Democratic Party and Maryland leaders to support MAGA Republicans on issues ranging from ICE and immigration to LGBTQ+ rights, the environment, and criminal justice reform. She is the only Maryland Democrat who has a record of rolling over to the MAGA agenda consistently.
Notable votes include:
- The Laken Riley Act – McClain Delaney voted to expand ICE’s authority to detain unlawful immigrants without conviction for offenses as minor as shoplifting. In contrast, Trone voted against the Laken Riley Act when in Congress.
- Restrictions on LGBTQ+ Rights – McClain Delaney voted to restrict the rights of LGBTQ+ servicemembers and even ban Pride flags from being displayed at Department of Defense facilities. In contrast, Trone voted against the MAGA attempt to impose similar restrictions in 2024 and has a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign.
- Federal Lands Logging Bill – McClain Delaney voted with 215 Republicans for a bill that would open millions of acres of federal land to logging with no scientific review, over the objections of over 100 environmental advocacy groups. In 2024, Trone voted against this measure and earned an A+ rating from the League of Conservation Voters.

“April McClain Delaney is desperately hoping she can run away from her record, but voters know the truth about her rolling over, not once or twice, but 22% of the time,” said Communications Director Gaby Krevat. “Marylanders need a fighter in Washington, and the only one in this race that has consistently stood up to Trump and MAGA Republicans is David Trone. No amount of spin changes that.”
This is the second website the campaign launched to spotlight McClain Delaney’s MAGA record. The first website provides an in-depth timeline of McClain Delaney’s anti-immigration, pro-ICE MAGA votes and actions since taking office.
