Frederick, MD – Congressman David Trone’s reelection campaign released a new polling memo today showing Trone with a consistent lead over April McClain Delaney across three polls conducted over the past five weeks by two highly reputable polling firms in the country: Global Strategy Group and Impact Research.
Across the three polls, Trone leads McClain Delaney in a head-to-head matchup 43%-41% on May 14th, 45%-43% on May 28th, and 43%-40% on June 11th.
The surveys report voters are more likely to trust Congressman Trone–by double-digit margins–when it comes to standing up to Donald Trump, protecting abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, and being a fighter for Maryland families.
And while Congressman Trone remains in good standing with voters, McClain Delaney’s job approval has been eroding since February.
“The more Marylanders learn about April McClain Delaney’s voting record, the less they trust her to represent them,” said Communications Director Gaby Krevat. “She voted with Trump and MAGA 22% of the time – backing anti-immigrant, pro-ICE votes that fueled mass deportation of our loved ones, and voting to restrict women’s access to abortion. Voters are sending a clear message to McClain Delaney: they want a fighter in Washington, and that fighter’s name is David Trone.”
