Frederick, MD – Today, Congressman David Trone’s reelection campaign launched a new ad that includes a soundbite from a recent interview with April McClain Delaney on WYPR where she doubled down on her MAGA Republican-aligned record, calling the Laken Riley Act a “common sense” vote. 

“To tar and feather me for what was a common sense vote is really absurd,” said McClain Delaney, referring to her vote for the Laken Riley Act.

McClain Delaney was the only Maryland Democrat to vote for the Laken Riley Act, which allowed ICE to detain immigrants without any due process, consequently leading to the mass deportation of hundreds of thousands of immigrants, violence and terror in our communities, and the murders of American citizens by ICE agents.

“Despite the hurt her vote has caused, McClain Delaney continues to double down on her disastrous Laken Riley vote,” said Communications Director Gaby Krevat. “The truth of the matter is McClain Delaney has voted with Trump and MAGA Republicans 22% of the time and is running out ways to defend her record”
