Frederick, MD – Today, Montgomery County Councilmember Evan Glass (At-Large), Delegate Chao Wu (D-9A), and former Delegate Ana Sol Gutierrez (D-18) announced their endorsements of David Trone for Congress, adding to a growing list of dozens of elected officials and organizations from across the Sixth District enthusiastically supporting Trone’s re-election campaign. You can view all of David Trone’s endorsers here, which include elected leaders from all five counties.
Throughout their time in office, they have collectively broken barriers to grow the diversity of leadership in Montgomery County. Gutierrez was the first Latina to be elected to the Maryland General Assembly, and Glass is the first openly LGBTQ+ member of the Montgomery County Council.
“These leaders represent the diversity, passion, and dedication that make Montgomery County and the Sixth District such a vibrant community,” said Congressman David Trone. “It’s been a privilege working with them over the years to continue moving our community forward, and I’m looking forward to what we will accomplish together in the years ahead. I couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”
“I have known and worked alongside David Trone for many years, long before either of us held elected office. During that time, he has consistently stood up for workers, expanded economic opportunity, and made government work for everyone,” said Councilmember Evan Glass. “I am proud to support David Trone and look forward to continuing our fight together for the residents of Montgomery County and Maryland’s 6th District.”
“David Trone has been a steadfast champion for immigrants and for creating real opportunity for all our children, no matter where they come from or what language they speak at home,” said Delegate Chao Wu. “We walked together on the campaign trail before. I have seen his unwavering support for the AAPI community and his commitment to ensuring every family has a fair shot at success. David doesn’t just talk about inclusion—he fights for it, and our communities are stronger because of it.”
“As the first Latina elected to the Maryland General Assembly, I know how important it is to have elected leaders who truly care and fight for families who are too often ignored. David Trone has always been a steadfast advocate for Latino families and for all individuals across our State, never wavering in his commitment to dignity, opportunity, and fairness,” said former Delegate Ana Sol Gutierrez. “I am deeply disappointed by what we are seeing in Washington DC and nationwide. Our district doesn’t need another bystander. We need a fighter! David Trone has always been that fighter, and he will be again. I am proud to be among his many supporters here in Maryland.”
David Trone served Maryland’s 6th District in Congress from 2019-2025. He is running for re-election in Congress to fight Trump and his MAGA agenda, protect our neighbors, bring down skyrocketing healthcare costs, and end the tariffs that are causing prices to keep going up for Maryland families.
