Frederick, MD – Today, the Montgomery County Career Fire Fighters IAFF Local 1664 announced their endorsement of Congressman David Trone’s reelection campaign, further solidifying his standing as the Sixth District’s leading labor and union candidate.
“David Trone has always been a champion for first responders, and that’s why we’re proud to endorse him for Congress,” said Jeff Buddle, President of IAFF Local 1664. “David has always fought for us — from better resources to safer gear and fighting for adequate funding. We trust that he will always be in our corner, and we’re going to make sure we send him back to Washington.”
“The safety and well-being of our emergency responders must be a top priority, which means we need a champion fighting for them in Washington,” said Congressman David Trone. “Each time they answer the call, they put their lives on the line for us. They deserve a fierce advocate who will push for updated federal policies, strengthen safety standards, fight for the latest technology and safety equipment, as well as expand mental health and wellness resources.”
IAFF Local 1664 joins a growing list of unions supporting Trone’s campaign, including the Maryland State Education Association, IBEW Local 24, IBEW Local 26, IBEW Local 307, IBEW Local 1200, SMART International, SMART Local 100, IAFF Local 3666, UNITE HERE Local 25, the Mid Atlantic Pipe Trades Association, and LiUNA.
David Trone served Maryland’s 6th District in Congress from 2019-2025. He is running for re-election in Congress to fight Trump and his MAGA agenda, protect our neighbors and our rights, and end the tariffs that are causing prices to keep going up for Maryland families.
