Frederick, MD – Today, former State Senator and Mayor of Frederick, Ron Young, announced his endorsement of Congressman David Trone’s reelection campaign, adding to the growing chorus of support from prominent leaders of Maryland’s Sixth District.
“It is a true honor to have the support of Senator Ron Young, a pillar of the Frederick community and a man who has made public service his life’s work,” said Congressman David Trone. “Ron and I have a history of working together to improve the lives of residents and working families in the district. His endorsement is a sign of trust I don’t take lightly, and I will keep fighting for the people of Frederick County.
“In my decades in government, no Congressperson ever, on a regular basis, reached out to me as David did to discuss local, state, and national concerns and how we as partners could address them,” said Senator Young. “He not only wanted input on our community’s needs but also on my perspective as to his performance in Washington. At this moment, he is the fighter Frederick needs in Washington, and I’m proud to endorse him.”
Ron Young served as the city of Frederick’s mayor for 16 years and later as a Maryland State Senator representing District 3. During his years of public service, Ron helped shape modern Downtown Frederick, leading the construction of the iconic Carroll Creek Linear Park and flood control system.
David Trone served Maryland’s 6th District in Congress from 2019-2025. He is running for re-election in Congress to fight Trump and his MAGA agenda, protect our neighbors and our rights, and end the tariffs that are causing prices to keep going up for Maryland families.
