Frederick, MD – Today, David Trone’s campaign for re-election to Congress representing
Maryland’s Sixth District continued to gain momentum, earning the endorsement of Frederick
County Executive Jessica Fitzwater.
“David Trone is the fighter we need in Washington,” said County Executive Fitzwater. “As our
Congressman, he brought millions of dollars to Frederick County to support our youth, help
families struggling with addiction, and make our community more resilient to climate change.
Both in and out of office, he has consistently delivered for Frederick County. In this moment,
with our rights and democracy on the line, we need him back in Congress fighting for us, and I’m proud to work with him to make sure that happens.”
“We are so incredibly lucky to have Jessica as County Executive here in Frederick,” said
Congressman Trone. “She’s doing a fantastic job supporting our schools, growing our
economy, and protecting our community from the harms of the Trump Administration. It’s an honor to work with her and have her support as we take the fight back to Washington and work
to deliver real results for the people of the Sixth District.”
The second County Executive in the history of Frederick County, Jessica Fitzwater was elected
in 2022. Prior to serving as County Executive, she served on the Frederick County Council from
2014-2022. A former union educator, she taught elementary school music in Frederick County
Public Schools for 16 years. She is the proud mother of two young children.
David Trone served Maryland’s 6th District in Congress from 2019-2025. He is running for
re-election in Congress to continue delivering results for our local communities, fight Trump,
protect democracy, and lower costs for working families.
