April McClain Delaney Can’t Decide if She Regrets Her Laken Riley Vote or Not, Just Look at the Timeline

Frederick, MD – April McClain Delaney is once again crying wolf over her Laken Riley vote in a recent interview with NBC4. McClain Delaney’s supposed regret is hard to believe given her back-and-forth in the press.

The merry-go-round timeline between McClain Delaney flip-flopping, lying, and getting caught is just as shameful as the vote:

  1. FIRST: April McClain Delaney announced her regret for the vote only AFTER Congressman David Trone entered the primary. (And no, she didn’t say anything while Trump started militarizing ICE across the country and deporting thousands of immigrants throughout last year).
  2. FLIP FLOP: Just two months later, she was back on the record defending her vote as “common-sense” on The Kojo Nnamdi Show in February.
  3. FLIP FLOP: When asked by WYPR in May, April McClain Delaney tried to defend herself, saying she’s being “tarred and feathered” for a “common-sense” vote.
  4. LIE: Realizing she can’t hide, weeks later, April McClain Delaney decided to just lie to voters in an ad claiming that she “100% voted against Trump’s ICE”.
  5. CAUGHT: Migrant Insider immediately called out McClain Delaney for lying: “[She] is telling voters she ‘voted 100% against Trump’s ICE.’ It is not true. Not close to true. And the receipts are sitting in the Congressional Record.”
  6. SHAMED: In a June public letter, Latino leaders condemned McClain Delaney’s vote and subsequent lies, stating: “You had to see what was coming. With Donald Trump’s return to the White House, we knew that immigration policies would become more aggressive and that we had to be prepared.”
  7. FLIP FLOP: In a sitdown with NBC4 this week, McClain Delaney, down in the polls to David Trone, once again flipped, stating, “I would not vote for it now.”

“If you ask April McClain Delaney her stance on her Laken Riley Act vote, it depends on which way the wind is blowing,” said Communications Director Gaby Krevat. “She can run, but she can’t hide from the devastation she helped cause. How can Marylanders trust April McClain Delaney when she can’t even be honest with herself?”
